LJM Factory @ Oragadam

Lind Jensen Machinery (LJM), the Danish hydraulic cylinder manufacturer, has established its first factory in India, located in Oragadam, Chennai. The pre-engineered steel structure, spanning over 50,000 sq. ft, has been designed and executed by Design Quest Architecture firms in Chennai for the production and assembly of hydraulic pistons, lock cylinders, and accumulators for the wind turbine industry.

The primary design objective was to create a dust-free environment that adheres to industry-standard tolerance levels concerning external factors. This was achieved through the implementation of cross-ventilation cycles. Epoxy-coated flooring and the use of automated motorized shutters in this air-tight structure were employed to reach this goal.

The design also includes a 20-ft box structure designed in accordance with ISO standards to house blowers, which eliminate dust from the parts brought from the logistics depot. These parts are then transported to the assembly room, where positive pressure creates an equilibrium to ensure a dust-free environment for machine assembly.

To meet the spatial requirements for office design and enable supervision of both the factory's workforce and machinery, a mezzanine floor with a double-height steel structure has also been designed.
